What makes you different from other bands?

 • Whilst we know making great music is super important we also believe putting on a performance is just as important. So we have choreographed our show with the whole band having set dance routines, crowd interaction, the horn section and singer roam into the crowd for parts of songs and a few more surprise’s.

• We use the very best session musicians in the business who have played with well known names such as: Rag and Bone Man, Jess Glynn, Rudimental, Gary Barlow, Jonas Blue etc 

• We are constantly updating our set list to stay with the trends by adding the best current songs that keep a dance floor full. 

• We have uniquely arranged “mash ups” in songs where several choruses of different well known songs will be sung over the vamp of a single song to keep the energy high on the dance floor

• We believe in competitive prices to give everyone the chance to have a great band for their event!

DO YOU ONLY PLAY SOUL MUSIC?

Even though we are called The London Soul Band and have a large soul repertoire we actually play lots of different styles of music like other high end show bands and function bands taking you through the different decades with our perfectly tailed set list. this can include Soul, rock and roll and some modern pop classics.

How does the booking process take place?

Send us an email by completing the Contact us form for a quote and to answer any questions you may have, then after you've enquired with us and you're happy to book, there are 3 very simple stages:

1) Let us know you would like to book the band

2) We will send you a contract and an invoice for a 50% deposit to lock the band in for you chosen date.

3) You then would read, sign and return the contract, pay the 50% deposit and the booking is confirmed.

What do you require from us?

Power

We need around 4 x 13Amp plug sources ideally but could work with 2 x 13Amp plugs if needed.

Food 

The band require a substantial hot meal for each member and water/soft drinks at the venue. These would usually be served between the bands sound check and first set or between set 1 and set 2.

Green room

We do kindly ask for a room for the band to get changed in/hang out inbetween sets/eat food in etc is provided if the venue has such a room.

WHO RUNS THE BAND?

Our founder and band manager is Mark who is also the trumpet player with the band (as seen in our promo videos)

Will you learn our first dance?

Yes! Whatever it may be! We already have a fairly large back catalogue, but if you want something new, we will learn a first dance free of charge! If it is a song that will not work with the instruments in the band we can happily play the original song through our PA system

Do you take other requests?

Our set lists may vary with which singer is performing on the day, the obvious example being if it is a male vocalist or a female vocalist.

We have curated our set lists over the years from playing hundreds of events and by carefully selecting the songs that people love the most and have with thought placed them in a particular order so that they flow really well and keep the energy up on the dance floor! We also really believe in have the flexiblity within the set to “read the room” the same way a DJ would and make on the spot changes.

If there are some songs/artists you are not keen on let us know and we will make sure to honor that request. We normally find a nice mix of Soul, Motown, Current pop songs, Rock and Roll etc works really well in the set but if you only want one style such as just Soul/Motown or just current pop songs we are more than happy to accommodate.

How long does the band need to set up and sound check? 

The band ideally needs 90 mins to load their equipment in, set it up and then perform a sound check to make sure all the sound levels are nice and balanced between each instrument creating a good mix.

Are the performers always the same as in the videos?

Whilst the singers and musicians in the video are always the first call, occasionally with their busy performing careers they may become unavailable for the date of the event. Fortunately The London Soul Band works as a tight-knit collective of world class performers, so the people coming in to replace the band members or singers are from a selection of the very best in the business so you will be in safe hands either way, our good reputation depends on it!
